Exclusive breastfeeding immediately after delivery and immediate post-partum:

All mothers:

  • Put baby on breast within 30-60 minutes after birth.
  • Give colostrums or ‘First Milk’ to their baby.
  • Give the baby unrestricted skin-to-skin contact immediately after delivery.
  • Do not give pre-lacteal like water, glucose, or other fluids like tea and soda.

Infant Vitamin and Mineral Deficiencies control:

  • All mothers receive one 200,000 IU dose of Vitamin A immediately after delivery or anytime within 8 weeks from the delivery.
